Appointed as Manager, Mechanical Department, Sasol One with statutory responsibility for all mechanical and civil equipment.

Responsible for all mechanical and civil service workshops, infra-structure and area maintenance using in the order of 1500 people. Achievements include the establishment of a specialised mechanical services division, the initiation of a study into the adequacy of the factory's maintenance facilities as well as a pilot study in the analysis of plant historical data to achieve an improvement in plant availability, the improvement of the department's team cohesion using organisation development.
